Who We Are
I’m Mike Sireci, the heart behind Dare to Expat. My journey began as a kid growing up in Connecticut and hating the cold weather that plagued me for much of the year. I started dreaming of living in the Caribbean where it would always be warm, exotic, and beautiful. Over the years my interests have drifted more towards Central America.
I’m 52 at the time of starting this website (2024) and starting to think forward towards when I retire someday. My main focus at this point is Mexico, but I have a strong interest in exploring the other countries too. My goal is to travel and explore in depth and find my dream hometown to settle down in. And this site, I want to share my experiences and knowledge to help others do the same—no matter where you are in your own journey.
